Welcome to Strathmoor Manor!
Congratulations on moving into one Louisville’s finest neighborhoods. Strathmoor Manor is a home rule city complete with a Mayor, City Commission, and its own police department that we share with the cities of Strathmoor Village and Kingsley. Originally created in the 1920’s and advertised as an airplane subdivision, it consists of 141 homes on Emerson, Strathmoor, and Lowell bounded by Bardstown Road and Lakeside Drive. Taxes are paid to the Manor and cover costs for garbage collection, fire, Strathmoor Police protection, city trees in the easements, street lights, and street maintenance. Each homeowner also pays property taxes to Metro Louisville.

The Strathmoor Police Department enforces the driving and parking laws as well as other city ordinances. Take care to make sure that your family and guests abide by the “no parking” fire lane signs, obey the speed limit, comply with the stop signs and avoid parking across a sidewalk. Having a neighborhood safe for walkers and playing children is what makes this neighborhood great. Also, the police will watch over your home when you are out of town. Contact the Strathmoor Police at 432-8900. In case of an emergency, call 911 for Metro Police.
City trees are placed in the easement in front of your home between the sidewalk and street. The Manor plants , trims and removes, as needed, these trees, but the homeowner is to maintain the easement and cut the grass.
Exterior property changes are to be reviewed and approved by the City Commission at a monthly meeting. Metro Louisville will want a Strathmoor Manor approval letter prior to issuing a work permit. Contact the City Clerk to be on the agenda.
City Commission meetings are generally held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7 PM at the First Financial Bank second floor meeting room on Bardstown Road. All residents are welcome to attend! Please remember that the Mayor and Commissioners are neighbors acting as stewards to keep our neighborhood pleasant and safe. We do not have a City Hall or any employees
